Eleven time league champions and eight time Uganda cup winners, KCCA FC have the opportunity this year to win a domestic double having already bagged the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) title.
Despite having scoring problems, the Kasasiro boys’ assistant coach Badru Kaddu reckons that they have the potential to achieve this dream. Speaking to the media ahead of the Wednesday afternoon tie with Vipers SC, Kaddu said; “we know we haven’t been scoring so well. We have scored one or two goals in our last crucial games but we are working on that in training.”
“We want to win the first domestic double for our fans,” Kaddu added.
The Lugogo based club who have this season been hosting their home games at Nakivubo stadium will welcome Vipers in the first leg of the Uganda Cup semi-finals.
Mike Mutebi’s side will have a huge challenge ahead of them as they face off with their former tactician, George ‘Best’ Nsimbe who guided them to two league titles (in 2012/2013 and 2013/2014) before leaving to join Azam FC in Tanzania. The last meeting between the two sides in the domestic league ended in a goalless draw.
