After an abandoned Uganda Cup final (KCCA vs SC Villa) in Ntungamo last weekend, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) concluded that the final should be fully replayed on a scheduled date.

Without delay, the federation set Tuesday, 16th June, 2015 as the day to have the match replayed however Sports Club Villa say that they are not willing to play the game for 90 minutes as suggested by FUFA.

“We are not ready to replay the game for 90 minutes. If we honour the game, it will be to play the remaining 18 minutes that were left as indicated by the referee’s match report,” the club President Eng. Ben Misagga recently remarked.

The president cited that the rules of the game are very clear, giving their abandoned games against Express fc in the Uganda Premier League as an example all in which the ‘Blues’ were awarded six points for the abandoned ties.

“We shall do it (honour remaining minutes of aborted game) as a courtesy. The rules are clear and clubs have been deducted points for similar incidents like when we were awarded points six points against Express,” he added.
