One of the prominent Kenya radio station Kiss FM is soon opening up in Uganda. Yes, brace your self for Nairobi’s number one hit station. Last week Friday, a truck stopped at Kampala road and machines amidst heavy security were offloaded and entered into the Park Yard building next to Kampala Pentecostal Church KPC. When we followed up on the story, below is what we found out.
According to our sources, Kiss FM which broadcasts on 100.3 in Nairobi, will be officially testing its signals come August this year and will be ready to battle the heavy radio competition that will be taking the prominent radio station here by neck grab.
Meanwhile, it has been rumored that the station is undergoing underground recruitment of staff and it is said that most of the stations will be liable to loose some of their presenters to the new station as the case has always been with Kenyan Media houses that come to operate in Uganda.
The station will be broadcasting live to Kampala and beyond from Park Yard building just next to Power FM. We talked to one of the workers at Power FM who asserted that this station falls in a totally different world than theirs. “We are a gospel station and they are secular one and therefore not our competitor.
