Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions K’Ogola have opened talks with Uganda’s most successful club the “Blues” in a bid to sign Steven Bengo. Bengo is on his second spell with the 16-time record champions after crossing from Kampala Capital City (KCC) during the summer transfer window before this season’s kick-off.
Having used Uganda players like; Dan Sserunkuma who recently moved to Tanzanian club Simba, Godfrey ‘Baba’ Kizito and Geoffrey Walusimbi aka “Jajja Walu”, Gor Mahia seem to have realized the plethora of talent that lies in the legs of Ugandan players and therefore wish to sign Steven Bengo from his current club SC Villa.
Gor Mahia are also in talks with APR to sign Rwandan star Jean Claude Iranzi and another striker from West Africa, particularly Burkina Faso in a bid to replace their two lost stars in the names of Kizito and Sserunkuma.
“We are following up on a player from West Africa but playing in Tunisia and two other players from within East Africa. The two players from East Africa are Uganda Cranes midfielder Steven Bengo (Sports Club Villa) and Rwandan international Jean Claude Iranzi (APR),” Gor Mahia CEO Lodvick Aduda told Goal.com.
