It takes two to make a relationship a beautiful one. Hard work, dedication, commitment, trust towards one another and a genuine desire to keep each other happy are the ingredients needed to build a long-lasting and happy relation. But sometimes, without realising, your partner may be taking advantage of you and taking you for a ride. He may show that he truly loves you, but is actually in this relationship for all the wrong reasons.
You do not actually mean as much to him as he means to you and behaving in a way that is dominating and rude, is in every sense a form of abuse which you should not take. So, we come to the rescue and bring you all the signs you need to catch and determine whether you are being a victim to the same and why you must absolutely call it quits.
1. He never appreciates you
You may slog all day to plan a surprise for him, cook him a great meal, dress up, do something he has been wanting to do for long but couldn’t find the time and all you get in return is ‘no appreciation’ from him!
2. He forces you to dress up and look a certain way
If he wants you to maintain a certain image and dislikes it when you are your own self, he is not in love with you, but the image that he has created of you or wants you to be.
3. He likes to hang out mostly at night
Because firstly he does not want to be seen much with you in the morning and secondly, he feels he can get something he wants from you easily at night! If that is the case, you need to show him the nearest exit, girl!
4. He never has time
For anything! For spending a day with you, for going out together, for listening to what all happened during your day, nothing.
5. He shouts at you anywhere
He does not know how to conduct himself in public, and shouts and screams at you any time, anywhere!
6. He doesn’t care much about your safety
Whether you are home late, stuck in a jam, haven’t called in a long time; nothing really bothers him.
7. He expects you to pay everywhere
We don’t mean he should be your ATM but as courtesy, he should at least offer to pick up the tab. Also, for the same reason, why should you be his money supplier always?
8. He is always interested in spending time with your girlfriends and ignores you when they are around
And most of the times, even more than spending time with you, he is interested in your female friends!
9. He never listens to you
He pretends to, but never takes in a word of what you are saying. Try asking him what you were talking about and he will be blank!
10. He blames you for all that goes wrong
Because taking responsibility is not his forte and blaming is obviously easier. He would not do so if he really cared for you.
11. He over-expects
He doesn’t want to take the initiative or make any effort himself, but expects you to do so every time, be it planning a date, giving him gifts, planning vacations or just fulfilling all of his wishes.
12. Television is more important than you
If that is so, he’d better have a relationship with his television and spare you the torture!
13. He never introduces you to his family or friends
Because he knows in his mind that you for him are a time pass and meeting with friends and family would only complicate things, along with giving you the wrong ‘commitment’ signals!
14. He never compliments you
You may have spent a lot of time to get ready or done something fabulous at your workplace, but he is the last person you can expect a few good and encouraging words from!
15. He makes different rules for himself and you
In relationship matters, when you go out together, in matters of giving each other space and while hanging out with friends, he makes rules for you to follow that are much stricter than the ones he follows himself.
16. He ignores your presence whenever he wishes to
Whether you are at home, at the movies, at a public place or a friend’s party, if he does not wish to acknowledge you, he bluntly ignores your presence because what you feel, what you want, and what you talk about is not his area of interest. He chooses to stay quite or conveniently ignores you.
17. He does not feel the need to inform you important details
Be it an official trip he has to go to, dinner guests that he has invited without consulting with you, a night-out plan that he has made with his friends or something else, he never comes and tells you.
