Kataleya and Kandle have weighed in on the ongoing conversation about women dating men who are financially struggling, with both artists saying they would not choose such relationships for themselves.
Kandle explained that her decision is influenced by the hardships she experienced while growing up and watching her mother struggle to provide for her.
“I suffered a lot growing up. I would not want to return to that kind of life. I watched my mother hustle to put me somewhere. I do not think I can, considering what I have gone through,” she said.
The singer added that although love is important, she works hard to build her own life and avoid becoming a burden to her future partner.
“Love is love, but I work so hard so that I do not become a huge burden to my man. I also work hard so that I land on the right person. I cannot marry a poor man,” Kandle added.
Kataleya, meanwhile, argued that financial struggles can create challenges in relationships, saying even women who choose to date men without money may eventually desire the lifestyle they see other women enjoying.
“It is good that we have told them. Let them work. Even if a woman decides to be with a man who does not have money, she can still cheat. She can reach a point where she also wants to be like other women. She wants this, she wants that,” Kataleya said.
