Vipers play-maker and Uganda Cranes Chan skipper Farouk Miya inspired the national team to their third consecutive Chan finals as they beat the Falcons of Sudan 2-0 in a return leg played on floodlights at Khartoum Stadium on Sunday evening.
Express FC fans’ player for the month of September, Sam Caesar Okhuti put Uganda in the lead before the usual suspect Farouk Miya doubled the score at the brink of half-time.
Okhuti netted from Miya’s corner when the Falcons failed clear in the area while KCCA’s Ivan Ntege created the second.
The reigning MVP also scored in the home duel together with Frank Kalanda a week ago when the Cranes hosted Sudan at Nakivubo Stadium.
Miya, takes Uganda’s top scorer accolade for the qualifiers with a tally of three goals, two coming against Sudan and the first against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.
The 2-0 result put Uganda through to the 2016 CHAN finals that will be played in Rwanda with a 4-0 aggregate.
