After qualifying for the quarter finals of the Copa Coca Cola national schools’ tournament, Kigezi High School were disqualified from the competition. They were disqualified for allegedly fielding an ineligible player.

The player that led to the dismissal of Kigezi High School is Gerald Ssentayi, a goalkeeper. Ssentayi’s eligibility was in doubt since the start of the competition but it wasn’t until today that the player together with the school were found guilty of committing fraud.
“The school has been disqualified NOT banned because the goal keeper is questionable having registered in three different names at various events,” Geofrey Bwiire, an organizer told Kawowo.com.
Reports from the Masindi camp indicate that the player has featured in the competition three times and was using different names at every occasion. The player who registered as Gerald Ssentayi with Kigezi High this year, is said to have been registered as Patrick Kawooya featuring for St. Edwards, Bukuumi during last’s year campaign.
