In a General Assembly that convened at Namboole earlier this week, it was decided that Eddie Gombya, the organizing secretary of Uganda Kickboxing Federation (UKF) be suspended due to abuse of office. During the Assembly, 43 out of the 46 voting members voted that Gombya be kicked out of office.
According to New Vision, “Gombya is accused for using his position to promote two big fights involving Jarko Jossula of Romania who beat Sharif Bukenya but failed to pay the participants and also the referees and judges.”
Gombya also allegedly promoted a fight that involved five Tanzanian players whom he paid half of the agreed fee.
Reports further indicate that Gombya owes four Tanzanians a fee of $200 each, according to disciplinary chairman Capt. Richard Mpangire.
His office has since been assigned to the technical manager at the federation Partick Luyooza till the elections that are due next year.
