This is really a big disappointment, because WhatsApp already allows you to use your handset’s internet capabilities to send text messages and even share files, it would not have been difficult to add a voice calling functionality using VoIP. Other messaging clients such as LINE and Viber already offer this functionality, which even works rather satisfactorily over a 2G connection. While we are not against the new Emoticons that the company has introduced in this update, we can only hope that it introduces features that will add something really useful that will have a greater impact, as well as appeal to its subscriber base.
