The new Azam Uganda Premier League champions, Vipers are set to strengthen their squad with numerous signings ahead of their participation in the CAF champions league.
Vipers’ coach Edward Golola who will be making his debut in the CAF champions’ league having failed to feature in 2011 due to financial constraints says that despite the quality in his squad they still need to strengthen the team if they are to compete favorably in the continental competition.
“I will need to add a utility defender from the local leagues who should comfortably play across the back four and also want one more attacking midfielder and about two strikers,” Golola told Suspersport.
The 44-year-old’s major area of focus will be the striking lining where they looked weak before acquiring Julius Malingumu from Rwenshama in January.
“We shall need a solid side if we are to do something on the continent,” Golola added.
