Vipers Sports Club humiliated Police Football Club with a 4-0 thumping at Nakivubo Stadium on Tuesday evening on match day two of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL).
New signing from Express FC and a returnee from trials in Lebanon, Tony Odur scored an early twelfth minute strike to give the Uganda Cup champions a lead. Two minutes to half time, sensational midfielder Ibrahim Kayiwa (another signing from Express) doubled the lead for hosts while Odur netted his second on the day just a minute later to make it 3-0 for the Abdullah Mubiru-coached side by halftime. In the second half, another new recruit from Soana FC Musa Esenu scored to seal the 4-0 victory for the Kitende based side.
At the champion Stadium in Mwererwe – Matugga, Fred Ssegujja was once again on target together with Batte Seif as Kawempe based side Bright Stars put league debutants Onduparaka FC to the sword in a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
Elsewhere, Sadolin Paints were once again no match for 16-time league record champions SC Villa as they lost by 2-0 at the Kyabazinga stadium in Jinja. Vitalis Tabu gave the Jogoos a halftime lead while usual suspect Mike Sserumaga also struck in the second half to seal the 2-0 victory for the visitors. The Painters have failed to score against Villa in all their home ties and Tuesday’s victory was the fifth for the Jogoos against the Jinja based side.
