Uganda Cranes right-footed winger, Moses Oloya has joined Russian club Kuban Krasnodar in a deal estimated to be worth $400, 000.
The former Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club attacking midfielder becomes the first signing for the newly appointed manager Romanian Daniel Vasile Petrescu who replaced Russian indigene, Sergie Tashuyev.
Oloya joins ‘The Cossacks’, one of the oldest clubs in Russian football having been founded in 1928 from Vietnamese side Becamex Binh Duong where he has been playing. He also becomes the first African to sign for The Yellow-Greens and the sixth foreigner to join the side after Ihor Zhurakhovskyi and Dmytro Shcherbak both from Ukraine, then Dmitri Stajila and Yevgeni Frolov from Moldova.
The club’s official website however notes that the winger will be playing with the reserve team for further assessment before being promoted to the first team.
Kuban Krasnodar beat two Japanese clubs to the signature of the Uganda Cranes star.
