He may have been on television a couple of years, but Mile Rwamiti is being forced to take TV classes again. The Spark TV presenter who is accused of blundering during his Koona ne Mile show and failing to control his guests on LIVE TV last Friday will have to re-learn what he knows to be allowed back on air.
On the show, entertainer/ Rubaga North legislator Kato Lubwama slapped promoter Bajjo of Bajjo events for saying that he doesnt know how to use English and is a disgrace to his constituents.
During the program “KOONA” that was aired on Friday 21st December 2018, and hosted by Mr Miles Rwamiti, Spark Television relayed live broadcasts of content that was contrary to the minimum broadcasting standards read a document released by Uganda Communications Commission -UCC today.
‘On Dec 21st 2018, #SparkTV aired a program ‘Koona’, where we noticed total breach of the Minimum Broadcasting Standards, breach of it’s licence terms and conditions and the law.The Program,’Koona’, producer and presenter of this show have henceforth been suspended Immediately,’ read a tweet from UCC.
NTV’s Sheila Nduhukire tried to challenge UCC’s decision saying; ‘I think you’re being a bully here, UCC! A guest clearly failed to exercise restraint and was outright intolerant to what was being said, but you find it easier to ban a program and it’s presenter. How convenient!’ NTV is a sister station to Spark TV.
Sheila was then told that not until Miles learns how to handle guests, his show will not be on air again.
We will keep you posted.
