Sanyu Fm has for long been a trendsetter. It has been the poster station for the youth and funky and it has positioned itself as the freshest radio station in town and its something of a joy that the 13 year old station has stayed afloat even with the new radio stations coming through. The idea that Sanyu Fm would ever stoop so low is surprising.
The Kampala road based station that has been under the microscope ever since Christine Mawadri took the reins at the helm as Programmes Director has shown a peculiar sign of succumbing to pressure. I think the many radio stations coming up have shaken them up a little.
In response, the station did the ultimate no-no and used a pull up banner with exactly the same imagery as that of rival station Radio City and only changed a few words. The move ignited a Twitter uproar with many Radio City employees venting their anger at their rival Sanyu Fm with a one Andrew Kabuura tweeting, “If you can’t beat them, join them.”A cynical jab at Sanyu fm.
NOTE; @97fmRadiocity is not battling Sanyu fm. FACT; Sanyu fm “stole” @97fmRadiocity imaging. OK Bye!

Embarrassing to say the least is what to describe Sanyu fm’ latest move and I am looking forward to seeing how Miss Mawadri is going to fix this.
