The NOGA game is a fruit picker educational mobile game set on a remote village farm in Uganda. Gigi, the player has to pick a given number of fruits around a maize farm and beat Granny’s strict set time period. NOGA was officially launched a few days ago and seems to be the word around town.
NOGA is a product of Tamithi Ltd. Tamithi is an award winning creative Ugandan firm; a home to young creatives that are storytelling Africa’s diversity through Animations, Illustrations and Games. They focus on creating innovative local ideas and themes that relate to everyday people.
The NOGA GAME has the objective of celebrating Uganda’s heritage as an Agricultural nation with a blend of driving messaging on opportunities and facts about Agriculture, nutrition and health under a deliberate effort to educate the youth. Ultimately this will enable us reach the youth in a language they understand and relate to.
Gigi, the main character often visits his village to help his granny, Kaaka, at the farm and always has given time durations to finish his chores on the farm as set by Kaaka. The NOGA Game is aimed to informatively create awareness of the wealth of our society in the agricultural and nutritional aspects; the design and artwork depict the nation’s rich agricultural blossoming while the later levels of the game involve quizzes and challenges concerning nutrition and health.
The NOGA game is Tamithi’s contribution towards advancing one of Uganda’s Mandates of harnessing and utilizing ICT in all spheres of life to enable the country achieve its national development goals. With the youth contributing to more than 60% of our population, audio-visual innovative solutions are the future of communication in this information age.
