On Saturday, foodies were treated to a mouth-watering meat fiesta at the East African Meat Festival held at The Gardens in Najeera.

Food enthusiasts traded their regular Saturday afternoon programmes for deliciously cooked meat of all seasons accompanied with free-flowing beer and lively Utake music all day long going into the night.

Sheebah invites Cindy to her house warming party

Published

All is set for TNS’s lead star Sheebah Karungi’s official opening new crib. Like we reported earlier, Sheebah is set to hold a massive house warming party come Monday, 1st July, 2019.

The Onkutudde singer who survived ruthless city landlords over monthly rent dues has been living in the house since the beginning of the year.

According to our sources, Sheebah sent out invites to a few pals and family members to join. However, a source further revealed that she didn’t forget to invite nemesis, Cindy.

“She definitely invited a few female artists to come and celebrate with her. Cindy too is expected to attend…” a close source revealed.

The pair have been beefing since the year began but perhaps this party will serve to reunite them just in case the Copycat star honors the invite.

Will Cindy turn up? We shall get you posted.

Chronnix Puts Up One of The Best Ugandan Performances in 2019

Published

on

By Staff Writer
I have woken up just in the right state to offer a sober review of the Chronixx concert. Let me say this; if you want to party without any safety fears, you can never go wrong with a Talent Africa event.

That said; there is no music genre that hits deep into the soul and spirit like Reggae. Reggae is not just a part of our life, Reggae is life itself.

So Chronnix makes an entry with “Here Comes Trouble.” For a moment I was worried that after this song, how else will he keep his not so usual fans glued to him. Well, he still had more in package for them. He did the ‘Smile Jamaica’, he noted up on ‘Aint No Giving Up.’ The intro just heightens you up; “Rastafari never, never leave I alone…”

He caught us on ‘They don’t know.’ He reminded us that ‘Black is Beautiful.’ And then we all went crazy on ‘Skankin Sweet.’

I was personally blessed to have him close up with ‘Legend.’ For no bettey way to say thanks than with the song.

I must say it was a concert of inner peace. Rastas are not trying to prove a point. At some point I was the celeb in my area; with my half of a blunt, I did spread love around. The revellers around could not stop worshipping me from saving them from the famine and thirst. I guess I am their legend.

The vibe was just right on every level except for the sound issues when Weasel came on stage and was joined by Chameleone. The emcees did not disappoint. Vampino, Cindy, Rabadaba and Maddox were surely in the groove. Nina Roz’ performance seemed offside. But she still got us with her star image.

When the concert ended, people remained locked in their position. Chronixx had made 2 hours of a performance seem like just 30. Imagine 2 hours of non-stop reggae. The crowd wanted more and more; for reggae is a drug you can’t help but keep taking. Even those who had not the slightest idea of Chronnixx left with ears full of gratitude.

When we talk concerts of the year, this one has earned its position right there at the top…

Mugabi, who uses his story telling techniques to craft beautiful music, showed why he has garnered such a passionate following with a launch performance that his fans will remember for a long time, not least for the surprise acts that the singer brought out on stage to help him deliver the songs they collaborated on for the new album. These included Lillian Mbabazi and Angela kalule, who took the celebration to the next level with Lillian not only performing her collaboration “Inkusubwabwa” with Kenneth but also performing her smash hit “Dagala” that sent the crowd into a frenzy.

He also perfomed songs like “Ekigo” a collaboration with Maureen, “Olugendo” done with Irene Namubiru, “Nkakwanye ntya” an inspiration from a high school crash that he had and last but not least “Oliwa”, all off his Ugandan album.

“This album is a very special one to me in many ways than one; it helped me open myself to fresh ways of creating music hence tapping into a new audience base that I didn’t know I had. Thank you all for the support. I am more than grateful,” said Mugabi.

Mugabi also performed songs like “Naki” and “Nkwegomba”, a fan’s favourite that had show-goers humming along to ever word. The event that was sponsored by Johnnie Walker Highball was nothing short of fun as the cocktails kept coming throughout the night.
