Mexican-Kenyan actress and film director, Lupita Amondi Nyong’o, is in Kampala for a movie shoot.
The Oscar winning TV star will be starring in a movie called Queen of Katwe that will be shot partly in Kampala.
The actress who won an Oscar for her role in 12 Years a Slave was spotted at Garden City over the weekend. “She was at Maurice Kirya’s sound Cup café. That is where I saw her,” said a source.
The new movie that she will be shooting is about a Ugandan chess star Phiona Mutesi. She will play the role of Mutesi’s mother and the movie will be shot in Uganda starting March.
