He will continue to play for his current Club KCCA FC until late December when the transfer market reopens before the Lugogo based side pocket $20,000 from the deal.
“Club CEO, David Tamale accompanied him and made the deal a reality. Birungi will get his sign-on fee on a yearly basis ($10000) per year in his two-year contract. We want to get more stars going for professional stints,” the KCCA FC chairman, Julius Raymond Kabugo told the club’s official website.
Khartoum are under the charges of Ghanaian international and former Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appaih who guided the team to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The Kasasiro Boy’s assistant coach ‘Omulangila’ Sam Ssimbwa also revealed that Appiah was interested in signing Birungi after the Kagame Cup.
“Appiah had wanted to sign him immediately after the CECAFA tourney in Dar es Salaam when he dismantled his team at the playoff stage but was told to be patient,” Ssimbwa remarked.
