The invitational tournament that is slated for the 6-7th August weekend has three Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) teams invited. The three teams include Lweza FC, Express FC and the newly promoted side Proline FC.
“It’s a good start and we want to build on it, our target is to make it an international tournament in probably three years’ time, but we are glad that we have started with the local teams, we will do what it takes for it to grow,” David Tamale, the KCCA CEO is quoted on the club’s official website.
The draws for the two days’ tournament will be conducted on Friday, 5th August at Lugogo. The invited teams have also been facilitated with UGX. 500,000 to prepare for the virgin competition that will help prepare the topflight teams for the forth coming 2016/2017 season.
According to the organisers, “each team will play two matches, with three points awarded for the win, one point for a draw, and a point for every goal scored. In addition, shots on target will be taken into account and used to decide the competition winners if teams are level on points and goal difference.”
