Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) are the 2015/2016 Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) Champions following a 1-1 draw with rivals Express Football Club in a game played at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Tuesday evening.
Vincent Kayizzi scored from the penalty in the 28th minute of the game to give the Red Eagles a lead while Muzamiru Mutyaba (also a scorer in the first tie) netted a 62nd minute strike to level matters for the Kasasiro Boys in a highly contested fixture.
With Vipers failing to win their home game against URA FC in Buikwe which also ended in a one-all draw on the same day, the result from Wankulukuku put KCCA to 56 points at the top of the league table, living Vipers 4 points adrift with just one game left to go.
This hence meant that the Yellow boys had clinched their record eleventh league title and Coach Mike Ray Mutebi’s first major trophy in his coaching career.
Meanwhile, Express remained third on the 16-team log with 50 points.
Congratulations KCCA FC!!!!!
