Cranes International Brian Umony struck the only goal of the evening that put an end to Bright Stars unbeaten run at the Phillip Omondi stadium
The Kawempe based side came into the game on the back of winning two and drawing three of their first five league opening fixtures while the defending champions had already lost one of their four opening fixtures to the newly promoted Sadolin F.C who beat them 1-0.
In a very tense game on Friday evening, it was a barren first half though dominated by the reigning champions. A more entertaining second half saw the “Kasasiro Boys” break Bright Stars solid defence when Umony netted with a header from Habib Kavuma’s cross.
The home victory pushed KCCA from 11th position to 9th with 8points on the 16-team log while Bright Stars fell from 4th to 6th with 9points on the table.
KCCA’s next game will be an away visit to Mityana where they will play current table leaders, SC Villa on Friday 31st October, 2014. Sam Simbwa is yet to lose a game since being appointed new Villa coach back in September. He has won two and drawn one.
