Ivan Byekwaso scoops USPA award for the month of November

For the second time this year, Mr. Universe aka Ivan Byekwaso has been voted Nile Special USPA Sports Personality for the month of November by Sports journalists under their unifying body Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA).

Byekwaso first won the monthly award in October when he was voted the sports personality for the month of September.

According to a vote conducted on Monday 7th during a monthly meeting at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, the natural body builder won by a total of 410 votes beating the Uganda Cranes (390 votes) by 20 votes and Cranes’ talisman Farouk Miya who managed to garner 370 votes.

Having won the INBA Natural Bodybuilding World Cup in San Diego, California, USA the 37-year old was destined to beat his opponents to the monthly accolade.

USPA also commended other sports personalities and groups for their efforts. These included; East and central Africa motocross Champion – Maxime van Pee, Tennis Player Duncan Mugabe for winning the Uganda Open
Pool Cranes and Arthur Blick Junior who won the national Enduro championship.
