SC Villa

Record champions SC Villa were yesterday held to a goalless draw by army side Simba Sports Club at Nakivubo stadium in the Azam Uganda Premier League.

Summer recruit and striker Umar Kasumba missed a late penalty that would have sent the Ibrahim Kirya-coached side to 4th on the log had they collected maximum points against a 14th placed Simba side who continue to struggle under the charges of Morley Byekwaso.

The goalless draw however saw them drop to 7th on the table while the story was no different for Kavumba based side Soana FC who dropped to 6th place following their goalless draw against Jinja based Sadolin Paints.

Meanwhile, BUL Bidco was the only winning side on the match day as they condemned league debutants The Saints to their 8th defeat of the season.

The score was 2-1 after full time, thanks to efforts by Umar Mukobe who netted to cancell Ivan Kiwewa’s first half penalty strike that had given Saints the lead while Milton Kariisa also scored from the 12-yard spot to hand the Jinja based side a victory.

The result saw the Alex Isabirye-coached side climb to 5th place on the table.

At Namboole stadium, a heavy down pour saw a duel between home side Sports Club Victoria University and JMC Hippos abandoned at half time with the score line at 0-0.

Azam Uganda Premier League Results:

Soana 0-0 Sadolin Paints
SC Villa 0-0 Simba
BUL 2-1 Saints
