Singer Irene Ntale, who recently tied the knot, has stirred conversation online after boldly sharing her views on financial roles in marriage. According to her, a man should fully take care of the home and should never let a woman shoulder household bills.
Ntale explained that in a proper family setting, the man is expected to handle major responsibilities such as school fees, rent, car fuel, and other significant expenditures.
She believes this structure not only reflects leadership but also protects the relationship.
However, she emphasized that women should not misuse this arrangement. While men should cover “the big bills,” Ntale said women must avoid pettiness and be willing to handle minor, everyday expenses when necessary.
“But again, women shouldn’t be too petty because at the end of the day, the home is theirs,” she said. “A woman shouldn’t wait for a man to return and pay Yaka just because they can’t pay any bill. Those small things you can clear, but the big bills the man should sort.”
According to Ntale, allowing men to take full responsibility for substantial finances prevents unnecessary problems.
“If you show a man that you can do everything, you’re leaving him with a lot of disposable income to spend on other women,” she added.
