Every year we are presented with a new crop of artistes who give us something of talent to talk about. They hit you when you least expect it and before you know it you cant have enough of them. One moment they are novices and then instantly become household names gracing huge concerts with huge amounts of fame and fortune to trail them.
Some artistes go to blossom and have successful careers but others tend to fall off along the way. Here are my fresh artistes causing major ripples in the game right now and these are the guys who have got people talking.
Irene Ntale
She is talented with a sultry voice, plays the guitar and she has looks to die for. Now what else would one ask for? Formerly a jazz artiste but since she decided to fly with Swangz Avenue she has gone mainstream to melt our hearts with good songs like Nkubukinze and that reggae tune that is topping charts everywhere LOVE LETTER with Gagamel boss Bebe Cool.
She is very much the unfinished article but her talent is undisputed. With guidance and good management she could become a force to reckon with in this game and could give the celebrated Irina Namubiru and Juliana a run for their money.
Khalifa Aganaga The first time I saw this guy on tv, I was biased, he came off as another young guy with hopeless dreams of becoming a star. In simple terms he just didn’t cut it. In one word a ‘WANNABE’. A friend gave me his material to listen to and I was like not again. Hesitantly, I took a second listen and my ears were tuned. I was impressed by his unique voice and the way he adlibbed on songs.
Not your typical star, very talented and a couple of tracks have got people talking about him. And under the watching eye of Emma Carlos of Twinkle Stars Talent agency he has released crackers like Mina Konda, the smash Ndabirawa and recently released Oyintangayo. If he remains focused he is one to watch.
Ruyonga No gospel rapper has got as much mileage and hype as this guy formerly known as Krukid. His hype has much deserved because this guy has been killing it in the rap game this year.
Though not really a new artiste its this year that has made rap die hards take notice. A sleek rhymer, the Man of God is on a roll and if u have listened to God Moves, Tutuse, Victory Music you will admit Navio isn’t relaxed.
The lyricist is bound for greater heights. So far these are the guys doing it for me right now but with music you never know who could jump out of no where. Otherwise adios guys.
