Kampala’s Sunday social scene is set for a tropical makeover as The Garden Pop Out returns this Sunday, October 4, with a Tropical Edition headlined by singer Elijah Kitaka at Tales Bar & Lounge in Bukoto.
The event, which has carved out a space for daytime entertainment, brings together music, fashion, cocktails and socialising in a garden-inspired setting. This edition takes a tropical approach, inviting revellers to trade their usual Sunday routines for an afternoon of live entertainment and laid-back outdoor energy.
Kitaka, known for his distinctive blend of Afro-pop, contemporary Ugandan sounds and soulful melodies, will headline the event, bringing a live music dimension to an experience traditionally driven by DJ sets and curated playlists. His performance is expected to give the afternoon a different rhythm, as audiences get an opportunity to enjoy his music in a more intimate, relaxed setting.
The Tropical Edition builds on the Garden Pop Out’s growing identity as a social gathering that goes beyond the conventional nightclub experience. With its emphasis on daytime entertainment, the event offers a space where music, personal style and social connections take centre stage.
The Singleton, the premium single malt Scotch whisky brand sponsoring the event, continues to use lifestyle experiences to connect with consumers, taking its presence beyond traditional whisky-drinking occasions and into spaces shaped by music, food, fashion and contemporary social culture.
The tropical theme is expected to extend beyond the music, setting the tone for an afternoon of colourful fashion, lively interactions and a garden atmosphere. Guests can look forward to embracing the spirit of the tropics through their outfits while enjoying the entertainment and social experience.
Daytime parties have increasingly become part of Kampala’s entertainment calendar, offering an alternative to late-night outings. Events such as The Garden Pop Out reflect a growing appetite for experiences that combine music, lifestyle and socialising without necessarily waiting for nightfall.
