Kampala, 13th October 2013: Tusker Project Fame 6 has returned to our screens today in a revamped and interactive format as the best musical talent show from across East Africa that shall see18 contestants battling it out for UGX 150,000,000 prize money and a recording contract with Universal records.

Uganda Breweries Limited held an exclusive gala night viewing party at Club Silk Uganda for consumers and fans to catch the show that kicked off with the performances from select top contestants that saw three contestants leave the TPF academy in dramatic fashion and also launched their “watch and Win competition” promotion that will be running nationwide.

This is by far a new twist to engage and encourage more people to stay glued to the show. Winners will be rewarded on a daily and weekly basis until the grand finale where the lucky person will bag a grand prize of 5 million Ugandan shillings.

To participate one will:
• Purchase a 500ml Tusker Lager.
• Look under the Crown for your 6 digit, alpha numeric code
• Watch Tusker Project Fame 6 to receive a 2 digit number
• SMS the 2 digit code followed by the alpha numeric code to the number 8338
• Cash prizes will be won by the first contestants to send their number correctly

Unlike anything seen previously on Tusker Project Fame, the stage this year gives the magical illusion of performers suspended in mid air. Filled with lights and colors that ignite an inner rock star, the dome has a number of other truly wonderful design elements.

First, the lines, which run along the walls of the dome, give the permanent illusion of a 6 string guitar. Coupled with the LED screens and the star dust on the back walls, this dome is a step up from previous Tusker Project Fame stages and it left the viewer’s speechless. As for the optical illusion on stage, only one word truly captures the essence of it… infinity. These new twists have made this year’s season unique and distinguished from the previous ones.

The viewing party was a star-studded event with past Ugandan contestants, Davis Ntaare and Naava. There were performances from Drumex Band, Naava Grey former TPF contestant and Cindy, who gave yet again another memorable performance and the guests were entertained to the sounds of DJ Aludah.

“Tusker Project Fame has found its place as East Africa leading and most engaging talent search since it was first introduced in 2006. TPF has successfully grown in scope and scale, and with its growth, succeeded in delivering authentic musical talent on the region’s entertainment platform and hence promises to do the same, we pride ourselves as having played a key role in bringing East Africa closer through music as well as discovering and nurturing great raw talent,” said Mrs. Grace Nshemeire Gwaku, UBL Marketing Director.

Out of 18contestants that were selected into the academy Uganda was represented by four contestants who are Daisy Ejang, Sitenda Kisakye, Derrick Kojjo and the dynamic duo Undercover Brothers.

“We have optimized key aspects of TFP 6, a move that will give fans across all participating countries greater involvement and experience throughout the eight weeks show. One key change is the voting, which now will be block votes per country as compared to individual numbers of votes received from fans across East Africa. This we believe will bring greater participation from all participating countries,” said Harry Mwanje, Tusker Lager Brand Manager.

The daily highlights of happenings in the Tusker Project Fame house will be broadcast daily Monday to Friday at 9:30pm-10:00pm and the live eviction and nomination shows on Saturday and Sunday starting from 7:30pm and 8:00pm respectively on Urban TV.
