Daphine Kajumba, 19, was crowned Miss Tourism Rwenzori last Saturday at an event held at Trans African Gardens in Kasese Town.
The search which was happening for the first time in Rwenzori region had a big attendance which had come to witness one of the 10 contenders taking home the crown.
The girls showcased different outfits in the creative wear session. Some of these were made out of hides and skins, music CDs, polythene bags among other things.
“We are proud to have the very first Miss Tourism Queen from Rwenzori region, it is the first time the search is being held here and we hope to win during the grand finale in Kampala,” Bismark Amumpaire, the cluster Head Miss Tourism Rwenzori said.
The search continues to Masindi District for the crowning of Miss Tourism Bunyoro.
