Kampala Parents School yet again continued on its path of nurturing talent through co-curricular activities when it hosted three other primary schools at the inter-schools football, netball, and basketball competitions.
The Kololo based school hosted pupils from St Catherine Primary School, St Kisuule Nursery and Primary School and Muto Primary School Buwama. The pupils competed in football, netball and basketball. The excelling schools and pupils went home with trophies and prizes.
Muto Primary School emerged the overall winner after beating hosts Kampala Parents School (4-3 on penalties – semifinals) and St Kisuule Primary School (2-0) in football. Muto also emerged overall winners in netball after garnering two wins. Kampala Parents School won two netball games while Kisuule won one.
The hosts also retained the basketball bragging rights when the visiting schools failed to field a basketball team. The teachers of Kampala Parents School also emerged victorious in netball against the visiting teachers.A similar match between teachers in football ended in a draw.
Kampala Parents School principal Daphne Kato said the competition has strengthened their relationship with other schools. “I want to thanks the visiting schools for coming to this competition today. You have made us proud.” Ms Kato said in her address.
She thanked Ruparelia Group, the proprietors of Kampala Parents School for financing the competition and having a heart to nurture talent. “The proprietors of this school know that many people have excelled because of their talent, for that matter they are willing to finance more of such events,” she added.
