The Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) has set charges ahead of Uganda’s clash with Ghana in the Africa Beach soccer championship qualifiers in a match that is due March 15th, 2015 at Sports Beach, Entebbe.
The charges will be Ugx 10,000 for everyone on match day. The fee was announced yesterday by the FUFA finance director Decolas Kiiza during the weekly press conference at the FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala.
Given the preparations that the team has been taken through, which are still ongoing, UBSA is optimistic that the Sand Cranes will pick a descent result against the Sharks of Ghana. During the same press conference UBSA chairman Deo Mutabazi mentioned that the team will be in residential training by next week on Monday as he hailed head coach Harunah Kebba.
“We have had two weeks of non-residential training with 24 players who were later be reduced to 15. Our coach Harunah Kebba is a doing a good job”, reads Mutabazi’s statement on the federation’s website.
The chairman also explained why they had to change venue from the usual Lido beach to Sports Beach.
“We had to look for a facility that meets the CAF and FIFA beach soccer standards. Our Pepsi Beach soccer League games will continue to be played at Lido Beach Entebbe. We are using the new venue for international matches”, Mutabazi remarked.
