In a recent segment of Galaxy FM’s end-of-year edition focusing on the music industry, DJ Nimrod stirred controversy by expressing his views on Bobi Wine’s contributions. Despite commending the Big 3 – Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, and Bobi Wine – for revolutionising Uganda’s music scene, Nimrod argued that Bobi Wine has done little for the industry.
Nimrod acknowledged the influence of Chameleone and Bebe Cool, asserting that they have played a more significant role by mentoring aspiring artists and maintaining active involvement in the music scene.
In contrast, he emphasised that Bobi Wine’s shift to politics, where he now leads a major political party, has diverted his focus from music.
According to Nimrod, the artist who has truly made strides in shaping the industry is Eddy Kenzo. Not only has Kenzo produced chart-topping hits, comparable to the Big 3, but he has also taken a proactive role in advocating for change.
Nimrod pointed out Kenzo’s efforts in demanding amendments to copyright laws and using the Musicians Federation to unite artists, showcasing a commitment to enhancing the music industry beyond individual success.

While acknowledging Bobi Wine’s role in the initial revolution, Nimrod contends that others, particularly Eddy Kenzo, are now driving positive change within the industry.
