Big Brother Africa Season 9 has been pushed to late September due to lack of enough funds to kick start the show.
Although the reality show sponsors Coca-Cola and Endemol are still supporting the show, organizers have decided to push it towards the end of the year. Reports have it that two contestants from past seasons will be chosen from each country. No open auditions will be held. XFM’s Denzel could make his way to Johannesburg again after he was kicked out in the first weeks of the previous season.
Other reports indicate that Season 9 could kick off on August 10th, 2014 after the world cup has ended. 28 participants from 14 countries will feature and these will come from Zimbabwe, Botswana and Angola, Zambia, Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Namibia, Malawi, Kenya, Ghana and Ethiopia.
The show brings together different contestants from African countries. Each country provides a contestant living in an isolated house while trying to avoid being evicted by viewers and ultimately winning a large cash prize at the end of the show. The show that airs on DSTV channels 197 and 198 is co-produced by Endemol, South Africa.
