There is bad blood between Nigerians and musician Bebe Cool. And it has now become apparent that it is more than just a social media spat. This after the singer was thrown out of the Nigerian Embassy on Tuesday evening.
Bebe Cool who had expected a warm welcome at the Nigerian Embassy for his part in helping secure the release of Nigerian singers, Omah Lay and Tems was instead met with animosity.
Bebe had escorted the Nigerian singers to their embassy in Nakasero after they were released from jail on Tuesday where it is believed he also had hoped for a closed door meeting with officials at the embassy.
However, at the onset of the meeting, Bebe Cool says he was singled out and told to exit the embassy premises.
It should be noted that Bebe has been taking the heat on social media where he is accused of orchestrating the arrest of the singers and most social commenters believe he was treated harshly at the embassy because of this.
Meanwhile, Omah Lay and Tems had been booked to perform at the Big Brunch concert which happened on Saturday, 12th December 2020.
After successfully holding the show, the singers would later be accused of violating the COVID-19 health guidelines and standard operating procedures when images from the show emerged online showing revelers closely packed together.
They were consequently arrested on Sunday along with their managers and the concert organisers. They were charged with negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious disease, under section 171 of the Penal Code Act. The charges have all since been dropped.
