Swangz Avenue co-founder Benon Mugumbya has spoken out about the pain the label still feels over the departure of singer Irene Ntale, who left the record label in 2017.

“We were badly hurt when Irene Ntale left Swangz Avenue because even up to now, we don’t know why she left. We believe she is one of the most talented female artists in Uganda,” Mugumbya said during an interview on Galaxy TV.
Irene Ntale was once one of the leading artists at Swangz Avenue, a Kampala-based record label known for producing top Ugandan music talent.

Her exit came as a surprise to many in the industry and sparked mixed reactions among fans.
To date, Ntale has not given clear reasons for leaving the label.
However, some sources have claimed that the singer felt she was being treated unfairly at the time, which may have influenced her decision to move on.
Despite the departure, Swangz Avenue has continued to grow and work with various artists.
Still, Mugumbya’s comments show that Ntale’s exit left a lasting impact on the team that once helped shape her early music career.
