George Nsimbe, the KCCA FC coach, has said their opponents in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, El Merreikh, are a good side, but lack speed in their system of play. Manchester United manager David Moyes has dismissed reports that Rio Ferdinand will not take part in a warm-weather training camp. Reports in Tuesday’s newspapers had claimed that Ferdinand would not be flying to Dubai on Thursday and was also set to announce his retirement at the end of the season. Craig Bellamy was banned for three games with immediate effect on Tuesday after accepting a Football Association charge of violent conduct. The charge arose out of the Cardiff forward’s clash with Swansea midfielder Jonathan de Guzman in last weekend’s south Wales derby. Michael Jackson fans have won financial damages for ’emotional suffering’ endured after the singer’s death. Five out of 34 plaintiffs were awarded €1 each from the court in Orléans, France, after suing Jackson’s former doctor Conrad Murray. Murray was jailed in 2011 over the singer’s death from an overdose. Jackson was aged 50 when he passed away in 2009. The court today (February 11) ruled that the five plaintiffs – two from France, two from Switzerland and one from Belgium – had proved emotional suffering.
