City businessman Jack Pemba signs mega freight services deal

Mr. Jack Pemba, the President and CEO of Pemba Group Of Companies (Pemba Sports Africa, Pemba Entertainment and JP Logistics), has signed a Freight Services Partnership Agreement with Mr. Samir Al-Akrabi, the General Manager of Star African Freight Forwarding LIC (Lake Oil Group).

The freight services discussions on the venture started earlier in the year, agreed on 6th August, 2016 and sealed on 6th October, 2016 at SAFF SHIPPING offices and proceeded to Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Dubai – United Arab Emirates. Among those who graced the occasion were, The Minister of State of Tanzania, SAFF staff – Dubai; JP logistics; Dubai business persons among others.

The service partnership will see Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and the entire East & Central Africa region benefit in cargo movement to/ from global origins & destinations. The service scope will entail Imports, Exports & Cross Trade of types of cargo.

Both SAFF Shipping – Dubai & JP Logistics – Uganda will partner in offering Sea, Air & Land Freight Services; Aircraft leasing/ chartering; Customs Clearance; Warehousing and 3rd Party Logistics.

Mr. Jack Pemba said, “The signing of the contract looks into creating opportunities, success and growth to the people of Uganda, and the entire African region.”

“The mechanisms, strategy and the passion of all the stake holders involved in this successful venture will see to it that value and growth is brought to all our clients and the business regions for the development of our people,” said Mr. Samir Al-Akrabi.
