6 Reasons You Must Avoid Abortion

Abortion is the medical process of ending a pregnancy so it does not result in the birth of a baby. It is also sometimes known as a ‘termination’ or a ‘termination of pregnancy’.

It is a common phenomenon for women, especially young girls, to have unprotected sex and end up getting pregnant. Depending on how many weeks you have been pregnant, the pregnancy is ended either by taking medication or by having a surgical procedure.

Here are five reasons you should avoid abortion.

1. Death: Abortion has killed lots of women around the world. Statistics have however shown that lots of women patronize quack doctors who lure them in order to help them overcome the shame of an unwanted pregnancy. As a result, many of them have terminated the lives of these women.

2. Extreme pain: Research has shown that an abortion process is extremely painful. The process of Dilation and Curettage (DC), which allows the foetus of a baby to be removed manually from the woman’s privates is very painful. The doctor inserts surgical instruments into the woman and tries as much as possible to evacuate the ‘unwanted growth’ from the woman’s womb.

3. Depression: This doesn’t apply to the woman alone. Depression and emotional disturbances may set in. The culprits (male and female), continue to be haunted by the fact that they have engaged in ‘murder’ and this could last in them as long as forever.

4. Criticisms: In this part of the world, once people discover you have aborted, get ready to be heavily criticized. Africa and particularly Nigeria is a very religious nation and most of these religions do not encourage abortion. In fact it is a taboo in our society.

5. Complications: Abortion can lead to complications. Some women out there today cannot give birth due to complications they had during an abortion. Abortion is a surgical operation and it could lead to lasting and regrettable repercussions.

6. Fate of the Child: There is a popular saying that some ‘presidents’ have been aborted by their mothers. If you cannot zip-up, be ready to train a child and in fact just like they say; children are the leaders of tomorrow, these unwanted babies could actually become the greatest men of this world.
