A few days after singer Eddy Kenzo intensified his case against Coca Cola for using his footage in their “A billion reasons to believe” TV commercial, Coca Cola has through its lawyers responded to him and trashed his Ugx 3.5 billion claim as compensation for using his song in their campaign without his consent.
Coca Cola has presented the singer with a written agreement with a one Daudi Kavuma who is apparently the rightful owner of the footage that Coca Cola is using. “We have a written agreement with Kavuma who is the rightful owner of the triplets that feature in the video we use in the ‘A billion reasons to believe’ campaign and we can confirm he was paid handsomely for the campaign. Any other claims to ownership of the triplets must be battled elsewhere with Mr. Kavuma not Coca Cola,” Coca Cola management said.
Eddy Kenzo had earlier through his lawyers KT advocates demanded a 3.5 billion Uganda shilling compensation from Coca Cola.
