Sura Yako Mzuri mama…. is that how the song goes? Wait no more, Sauti Sol is coming to Uganda to bring the country down with their hit song. Without a mince of words, Sauti Sol confirmed that they will be performing in Kampala on June 5th at the Kampala Serena Hotel, Victoria Hall.
Ticket prices are yet to be confirmed but rumours on the street have it that an ordinary ticket will go for either 50,000 or 100,000. In a joke to their fans, Sauti Sol commented; “Someone from Uganda is claiming that SURA YAKO is a Ugandan song. Guess you’ll have to wait till we come to make sure. We will be live in Uganda for the first time!”
Bebe Cool on the other hand has bragged that Sauti Sol are simply coming to help warm out the seats at Serena for his fans.
The award-winning African band Sauti Sol from Kenya won an MTV EMA Award as Best African Act in 2014. Comprising of Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Austin Chimano, Polycarp Otieno and Savara Mudigi; this foursome mixes their soulful voices with vocal harmonies, guitar riffs and drum rhythm.
Sauti Sol blends warm resonant pop with traditional Kenyan influences. Their mélange of energetic rhythms has promoted the group to become one of Africa’s most celebrated and East Africa’s pioneers of a fresh sound that has inspired the sprouting of many other bands from East Africa.
