Let’s be honest — if we had a dime for every time we forgot a password, we’d probably be able to collect more money than what all of our logins are worth on the black market.

As hackers become more agile, and as online security threats grow more advanced, login information is becoming increasingly complicated. With passwords that require a capitalized letter, number, symbol and the name of your pet from middle school, it can be extremely difficult to keep track of all of your login information for every site you visit regularly.

1. Dashlane

Dashlane

Dashlane is a web and mobile app available in two versions. Both include alerts on security breaches, a built-in digital wallet for online purchases and automatic saves and screenshots of your purchases. There are no clunky toolbars, as Dashlane uses autologins. You can also easily import your Chrome passwords.

The premium version ($19.99 per year) includes additional secure cloud backup and web access to passwords. Dashlane is available for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

2. LastPass

LastPass

LastPass is a web app compatible with Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome and Safari. The app features one-click login for all of your accounts, and can also store other data securely. LastPass encrypts your information locally, so your information is always safe.

You can also safely share login info without exposing the information, import and export your personal data and back up your information. There is a screen keyboard option for logins to deter hackers.

You can upgrade to the premium version for $1 per month in order to use LastPass on your mobile devices, including iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone.

3. oneSafe

onesafe

oneSafe, available for Mac and iOS, is a strong security management app. The app ($5.99 for iPhone and iPad, and $12.99 for Mac) syncs your login information across various devices via iCloud, and includes secure backup.

You can also easily import and export your info, and take advantage of oneSafe’s password generator. oneSafe has a clean user interface with user-friendly layouts for easy organization.

You have the option to use onePhoto ($1.99 for iOS) to keep all of your photos and videos secure and in one place. The tight security includes the option to let your media self-destruct after three unsuccessful logins

4. SplashID Safe

SplashIDSafe

SplashID Safe offers three editions, each with various features for specific needs. The personal edition (available for a flat fee of $9.99 after a free trial) is available across all platforms, including Mac, Windows, Android, iOS, Blackberry and Windows Phone.

The teams edition (available for $5 per user per month) is great for small teams, and allows for users to share their records with collaborators securely.

The enterprise edition is for larger organizations, and it can be hosted on the client’s own servers or via SplashID Safe’s cloud syncing service. All editions feature identity protection, automatic backups, automatic password generation and anti-phishing web autofill.

5. Norton Identity Safe

NortonIdentitySafe

Identity Safe is a free app from antivirus company Norton, and it’s available for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android. The app saves your passwords and will recognize your used sites to autofill fields. You can also securely store notes.

Identity Safe gauges a site’s safety before you visit it, and it also has a password generation feature

6. Password Genie

PasswordGenie

Password Genie, available for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android, is another password manager available in free and premium versions. The app will save your login info and password, and autofill a login form the next time you visit the same site.

You can also create customized folders for different categories of sites, and you can sync the account with multiple users, desktops and devices. In addition, Password Genie has automated backups and will encrypt your personal info for extra protection.

7. Roboform

Roboform

Roboform is a form-filling app available for Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android and Blackberry. The free version of the app supports up to 10 logins. You can upgrade to the Desktop version for $29.95 for your first device, and then $9.95 for each additional device. Or you can choose the Everywhere version for $9.95 for your first year, and then $19.95 per year thereafter for unlimited logins on multiple devices.

All versions have form-filling and bookmark syncing capabilities. Roboform also has a batch login feature, so you can log into multiple sites at once

8. Ilium eWallet

eWallet

Ilium’s eWallet app is available for both Mac and Windows, both of which sync to mobile devices, including iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone (prices start at $9.99). The app includes a built-in password generator and time-out locks for maximum security.

There is an option to back up your info and data to iCloud, and eWallet will also save your sites to prevent phishing.
