Cranes striker Daniel Sserunkuma calls off his move to Armenia’s FC Banants after a row with his Kenyan side Gor Mahia.

After passing trials in Armenia, the Kenya Tusker Premier League table leaders said the player had sneaked out of the country without their clearance.

“I have decided that for the good of my career I come back and play for Gor Mahia and also forget about the move to Armenia since there are some issues. When the time is right I will make another move,” said the striker who however added that he is hurt about all these developments.

Last week, Gor Mahia said they had not given Sserunkuma’s agent Ken Joseph clearance to take their player although the UK based agent insists he spoke to the club.

Sserunkuma said it is a dream for every African player to play in Europe and he will continue to work hard to achieve his ambition.

The Ugandan striker who was Kenya Premier league player of the year last season had also received offers from clubs in Ukraine, Armenia and Belarus.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia has insisted that they will report the player and his agent to FIFA.

The player will now have to return to Gor Mahia under his former coach with the Uganda Cranes Robert ‘Bobby’ Williamson.

Sserunkuma who joined Gor Mahia from another Kenyan side City Stars netted 17 goals in the league last season to finish second on the scorers’ chart.
