Neil Patrick Harris has stripped naked for the cover of Rolling Stone.
The actor appears on the cover of the magazine’s latest issue in just a dickie bow and a strategically placed top hat.
He also discussed the impact coming out as gay has had on his career, saying: “Once all the cards were on the table, I got more opportunities than ever.
“Some actors don’t get hired because you can’t look into their soul and see what they’re like, because they’re kept guarded.”
He also revealed that he found coming out to his family a lot more difficult than doing so in the public domain.
The How I Met Your Mother star’s brother, Brian, said that he came out gradually over “three conversations”.
He said: “First he goes, ‘I just don’t think I’m going to date, really, for a while.’ And he had some bad luck with the girls he dated early on. Probably because he was gay!
“And then we had a different conversation about how he likes girls, but he kind of likes guys too. And we had another conversation after that: He likes guys.”
Harris is currently starring in the title role in Broadway’s production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Belasco Theatre.
