Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is hopeful that Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal will be available for this Sunday’s crucial Barclays Premier League clash against Everton at Goodison Park , but revealed Mesut Ozil has been ruled out of the FA Cup semi-final against Wigan.
The 23 years old Ramsey, who scored 13 goals this season, has suffered a number of setbacks since picking up a thigh injury in the 3-1 victory over West Ham United on December 26.
Wenger, however, has confirmed today that Ramsey and Monreal, who has been out with an ankle injury, are already back in training and there are strong indications they will feature this weekend.
“Aaron [Ramsey] and Nacho Monreal are back in the squad, so that is good news. Hopefully they will be available for Sunday. [Abou] Diaby is back on the pitches, so that is good news,” Wenger told the club’s website on Thursday.
Mesut Ozil is still absent with the hamstring injury he sustained against Bayern Munich last month and Wenger has ruled him out of the FA Cup semi-final with Wigan on April 19, although he could be available for the league meeting with Newcastle nine days later.
“The FA Cup will be too soon for him, but he will hopefully be back soon after that,” he said.
