Veteran Ugandan comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi is set to celebrate his 25-year journey in the comedy industry this December, and as he gears up for the milestone, he’s sharing heartfelt advice for fellow parents.
Known for his humorous approach to life, Amooti is now encouraging parents to build open, friendly relationships with their children, a principle he practices with his own daughter, TikTok comedy creator Coco Must Shine.
According to Amooti, the approach of being hard on children can hinder them from bringing out their best qualities.

“Parents should be friends to their children and not scare them to be respected. The children know you are the parent; therefore, there’s no need to set a mood that scares them away,” Amooti explained.
As he looks forward to his December show, Amooti’s message is clear: fostering open communication and trust within families can empower the next generation to follow their passions.
