The long awaited inaugural Social Media awards took place on Friday at Nakumatt Oasis at the Hub and just like anticipated, they were very impressive.
The event started around 4pm with a press conference before invited guests and the various nominees started slowly arriving at about 5pm. The guests were thereafter treated to free cocktails accompanied by snacks and yummy goat’s meat,chicken and salads as they interacted before finally being ushered into where the awarding ceremony was to transpire.
At around 7pm the award giving ceremony kick started with a performance from Cape brothers who kept showcasing at intervals as the ceremony went on. Excited and very expectant nominees constituted majority of the crowd.
The fully packed Hub hall was kept on tension for 3 straight hours before the show came to an end at around 10pm.
The show came to an end with a speech from the Blue Flamingo boss Seanice Kacungira who thanked all participants and assured us that the event will be annual henceforth.
