Of the seven contestants representing Uganda at The Voice Africa, only four have managed to advance to the next stage of the competition while the rest have been eliminated. The four who impressed the judges in the blind auditions include Desire Tusiimire who performed Jireh by Maverick City; Ronnie Ssemujju performed Fix You by Coldplay; Charles Ssekitoleko performed End of the Road by Boyz II Men; and Sharon Kyolinakyo performed Happiest Year by Jaymes Young.
To advance to the next stage, talents had to be selected by Coaches Yemi Alade, Awilo Longomba, Lady Jaydee, and Charles Locko Samba, to be on their teams. Desire Tusiimire, Ronnie Ssemujju, and Charles Ssekitoleko were selected by Coach Awilo Longomba while Sharon Kyolinakyo was selected by Coach Jaydee.
The competition now progresses to duet battles where the coaches will pair their talents to perform as a duet and then select their best talent who will qualify for the live auditions.
The Airtel-sponsored vocal musical reality show airs every week and will run until September 2023 when the winner will be announced. The overall winner will walk away with a cash prize of 100,000 US dollars and a recording contract with Universal Studios.
