Uganda’s top fashion columnist and blogger (at www.fashion256.com), Samson Baranga has been nominated in the 2016 edition of Swahili Fashion Week.

Commonly known as Big Sam, Baranga has been nominated in East African Journalist of the year category.

The award recognizes journalists in the region who have played a major role in promoting the fashion industry.

Having won the award for 2015 blog of the year in the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards, this nomination did not come as a surprise for the seasoned writer and photographer.

“I have put in a lot of effort over the last five years. It’s good to see Africa recognizing my contribution to the industry,” he told BigEyeUg.

This comes at a time when he is also nominated in the fourth edition of Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs).
