In a rare interview during the Break The Chain album tour in Tanzania, Zuena Kirema has opened up about a tough chapter in her relationship with Ugandan music icon Bebe Cool.
Speaking to Tanzanian media while accompanying her husband on his regional tour, Zuena shed light on a time when she made the bold decision to walk away from their relationship — not out of love lost, but out of concern for their children’s future.
According to Zuena, the breaking point came when Bebe Cool failed to prioritize securing a stable home for their young family. At the time, the couple had two children, and despite her constant appeals to invest in a house or land, Bebe Cool chose to focus his finances elsewhere.
“I left because he had no place for our children. I had kept telling him that, but he was adamant and kept on buying expensive cars instead,” Zuena disclosed during the interview.
She added that her decision was not sudden, but the result of repeated warnings and concern about raising children without a stable home. To drive her point home, Zuena set a clear condition before she could return to the relationship.
“I put a condition that he must buy land before I come back,” she emphasized.
