Popular Tanzanian blogger Mange Kimambi has advised Wema Sepetu on several issues about pregnancy.
Ms Kimambi has urged the actress not to bow to social media pressure that is putting the squeeze on her to get a baby. Mange also cautioned Wema against announcing her pregnancy before it gets past four months (first trimester).
“Wema, I know you as a person who doesn’t heed to advice, though I am urging you this time round to listen to me. There’s a reason why women are advised by doctors against announcing their pregnancy before it gets to four months, and that is because one can suffer miscarriage of a pregnancy that hasn’t gotten past first trimester.
“Next time only share such news with your mum and sisters; not your friends. Remember it is your buddies who first broke the news about your pregnancy to the media. Such people are not true to you – no friend who cares about you would announce a two-month pregnancy to the media. Use that period to pray to God to help you carry your pregnancy to full term. I almost cried when you confirmed news about your pregnancy way too early, but it was too late.
“Another thing Wema: why have you of late allowed yourself to succumb to pressure by fools on social media who are pushing you to get a baby when you are not ready? Besides your family, I am the only one who knows your real age. Wema you are not even 26-years-old.
“Since when did they classify such a young woman as barren? You are still too young to become a parent. You haven’t even tied the knot! Kindly get married before you consider becoming a mother. Don’t listen to those fools. You shouldn’t just conceive for any man; take your time,” said Mange.
Wema Sepetu on February 17 announced that she had lost her 13-week pregnancy.
